Welcome to Thrive!
The very fact that you are here tells us all that we need to know… that you are curious, interested and supportive of the Thrive mission!
So, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the essence of who we are… a God centered faith-filled ministry committed to honoring and enriching the lives of special souls that possess very distinctive identifiable abilities. All with human potential that we work hard to cultivate by creating environments that allow them to unleash those abilities every day in creative and fulfilling ways.
Thrive is here for those that can most benefit from a community that is laser focused on ultimately solving for unique live-work-play needs when the concept of fully independent living is not a viable option for them.
We call our participants and direct beneficiaries of the community Citizens. This label foretells their opportunity to affiliate with us on a lifelong basis, while also honoring their value as equal parties to God’s design for existence as we know it.
With that backdrop in mind, we developed daily programing that includes physically and intellectual engagement on many levels, but specifically tailored to the natural skills and abilities of each of our beloved Citizens. The vision includes products and projects that are 100% completed through the handiwork of most of our citizens for every item made and sold. Furthermore, each citizen has the opportunity, in whatever way possible for them, to be a fully contributory member of a successful catalytic community engaged in creative exercises.
Examples of ongoing or successfully completed projects include, but are not limited to: scented candles, bottled liquid soap, designer pet soaps and treats, holiday ornaments, thank you cards, birthday cards and other similar products. Additionally, the community is often commissioned by local or affiliated business enterprises to assemble corporate and holiday gift baskets on a large scale and to complete fulfillment projects that include light assembly and package preparation for shipping requirements.
We have come a long way as a fledging 501(c)(3) not-for-profit enterprise since being founded in 2021 at The Cooler, graciously provided by John and Judy Bardis, but there is so much further to go. Our work, in many respects, has just begun. We plan to build a major campus over the coming years and are beginning the process of seeking God’s plan for that vision-fulfilling endeavor. Among the many core themes of this longer-term initiative is to offer our citizens full-time residences and social spaces whereby they can live rich and full lives indefinitely.
In the meantime, our current day program, including all of the programming referenced above, is pursuing our first annual peer-to-peer fundraising exercise! We truly need your help to make this a success. At least one third of our annual budget comes directly from you and others like you contributing to our annual campaigns. This year is no different. As you consider year end giving plans, please take our operating budget and other funding requirements into account. We use these operating funds for full-time salaries of our instructors, rental expense for our permanent space, utility costs, numerous supplies, fees and licenses and any equipment purchases needed during the fiscal year.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. We appreciate you more than you know! Your generous contribution and willingness to join or continue participation in our community engenders gratitude beyond words. Your gift is tax deductible and will only be used for the items identified above. Thank you for changing the lives of the citizens of Thrive, their families and our small team of staff members and volunteers.
May God bless you for acting upon the call to action below.
Sincerely,
Bill and Joy Prettyman, Co-founders

Hi, my name is Victoria and I am one of the citizens of Thrive Community. I love waking up every morning and having a purpose and a special place to go. I start every day (including the weekends) full of joy and a zest for life and asking to go to Thrive where I know that I am loved and accepted and part of the group! I enjoy the positive, Christ centered atmosphere at Thrive and I love all of my friends and our leaders. They are like my family! I have been called a “team supervisor” because I really enjoy watching everyone else work and occasionally offering some enthusiastic commentary. I like it when we listen to music while we work or take a walk when we have a break. I am proud to be a citizen of Thrive Community and I am grateful for your support!
Zahra
Zahra loves creating art, which makes Thrive the perfect place for her. She especially enjoys making ceramics and proudly selling her pieces at our holiday shows.
